Acting on DMK's complaint, Governor to order probe against EPS?

Tamil Nadu Governor Banwarilal Purohit is reportedly consulting with officials on the memorandum presented to him by DMK President and Leader of the Opposition in the State Assembly M K Stalin on Monday, demanding a free and fair probe into the video clippings alleging murder and break-in at Kodanad estate linking Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami.

According to sources, the Governor is likely to take a decision on this soon. In his memorandum, Stalin urged the Governor to take legal action against the Chief Minister and direct him to step down to ensure a fair and impartial probe into the matter. Pointing outt to the video released by former Tehelka Editor Samuel Mathew, he also urged the Governor to order a impartial probe by setting up a Special Investigation Team (SIT) headed  by an Inspector General of Police (IGP).

The DMK president requested Purohit to place all the facts before President Ram Nath Kovind and take necessary Constitutional measures against Palaniswami. He also urged him to direct further investigation in to the mysterious death of Kanagaraj, a former car driver of late  leader J Jayalalitha and her close-aide V K Sasikala, who is currently serving a jail sentence in Bengaluru's Parapana Agrahara prison.
